The new Matías Bombal’s Hollywood Cinema Craft Series of repertory, art and foreign films at the Orinda Theatre continues in October with NIGHT OF THE DEMON (UK,1957). Director Jacques Tourneur's supernatural thriller from a brief period of outstanding British movies in a horror vein often overshadowed by the "more gore" films of the Hammer Studios era of Great Britain, stars Dana Andrews and Peggy Cummins. Released in a truncated version in the USA in 1957 as CURSE OF THE DEMON, we are showing the longer original British release version for the very first time in Orinda. Matias Bombal will introduce the picture and lead a discussion afterwards.
