Set in present-day Iran, Cast Aside the Clouds is a story of hope which follows Layla Khosravi, a determined young Bahá’í woman, and Dr. Sasan Naderi, a secular Muslim neurologist whose understanding of her faith has been shaped by society’s prejudices. As an unexpected connection grows between them, they must navigate family pressure, religious intolerance, government scrutiny, and the threat of imprisonment.
When Layla is arrested because of her beliefs and pursuit of education, Sasan is forced to confront the injustice surrounding them. Their relationship becomes more than a love story: it is a journey of courage, truth, and the choice to stand beside someone society has tried to erase.
Set against the textured backdrop of Tehran, Cast Aside the Clouds explores love as an act of resistance and the courage required to question inherited assumptions and seek the truth for oneself.
