LIVE AT ORINDA

Opening Night - September 22, 5PM

Lisa Vroman

Live At the Orinda 2019 - 2020 concert season opens with world renowned classical soprano and Broadway star Lisa Vroman. After making her Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber's ASPECTS OF LOVE, Lisa was the first to play both Cosette and Fantine in LES MISERABLES. She went on to star as Christine Daaé in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA for several years on Broadway as well as her record breaking run in San Francisco. One of the few artists able to move seamlessly between Broadway and opera, Ms Vroman has headlined in opera houses and concert stages around the world and is a frequent guest of the San Francisco Symphony. Lisa Vroman will be making a very rare cabaret appearance exclusively for Live At the Orinda. Expect the unexpected!

"...few ladies today possess the exquisite voice, clarity, and range of Lisa Vroman..." - Harold Prince

"...Vroman is a musical and theatrical marvel, capable of moving between the worlds of Opera and Broadway with unnerving ease..." - San Francisco Chronicle

Emily Skinner

“Emily Skinner, I picked you, I love you, you’re perfect.” - Cher

"[Emily Skinner] who plays my mom, is great. That's a very important part. It starts the whole tenor of the project: How my mom treated me as a child. That is why I am who I am now."- Cher

“Skinner is simply sublime ... She seduces you in one minute and breaks your heart in the next.” - Liz Smith | NY Post

“Skinner’s voice is absolutely ravishing, filled with a rich warmth from top to bottom. I could listen to her sing just about anything.” - Wall Street Journal

EMILY SKINNER has unequivocally established herself as one of Broadway‘s most engaging and versatile performers.

In 2018, Emily Skinner had the distinct honor of being chosen by Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe Award winner and pop culture icon Cher to star as her mother, Georgia Holt, in the Tony winning Broadway musical, THE CHER SHOW. Cher even Tweeted "I picked Emily Skinner 2 be Mom. And I was right. She IS Mom" Emily also portrays another pivotal role in Cher’s life, as the legendary Lucille Ball and has been praised in reviews as a highlight for both roles in the hit musical.
